The surfer attempted paddling into this wave at Belharra, France. He suffered a horrendous wipeout on the drop. Going over a bump he bounced off his board and skidded on his back down the face, looking up as the crest threw over him. If he had made it to the bottom this could have been the biggest wave ever paddled into, well over 60 feet high in my analysis. Jamie Mitchell is 6' tall. The following wave was bigger, said to be a 70-footer by witnesses, which Jamie faced when he surfaced, wearing a life vest so he could not dive under it, so he took the 70-footer on his head, and survived. These are true-to-scale paintings of the biggest waves ever surfed in high definition. Some are imaginary reconstructions of actual events, such as Ken at Log Cabins on "Biggest Wednesday", and Greg Noll at Makaha. There were no photos taken of their historic rides. Others are from sketches I made from viral videos and photos. All surfer and photographer names are available on request.
