Artist's Description

Surfer paddled into this wave at Jaws, Maui, on 2-8-2011. This is a reconstruction based on ONE frame from a cliff-angle video. Looking down from the cliff at Jaws makes the wave look taller than when viewed from water-angle. This was a long ride, awarded "ride of the year" by the Billabong XXL. The wave is probably over 40 feet. The surfer is Danilo Couto.
